Dalbergia congestiflora is a true Rosewood. Because of it's rich purple tones it is often called Mexican Kingwood. It is one of the denser Rosewoods, comparable to Honduras Rosewood and African Blackwood. It has  good machining properties and takes a high polish.  

The relatively small size of these trees limits cutting sizes, but in our opinion it is among the most beautiful of the Rosewoods.
