Diospyros mun is a species of flowering tree in the family Ebenaceae. It is a figured Ebony similar to Makassar Ebony with variegated, streaky brown and black figure. It is considered a highly valuable wood for turnery, fine cabinet work and joinery.  It is also used as  fingerboards for guitars and other related instruments.

As an exceptionally beautiful timber, ebony has been much appreciated by woodworkers all over the world for centuries.
